Ancient Sage Shri Vashishtha added Pranav (OM) to make “MAHA MRITYUNJAY” MANTRA (33 letters), each letter of which represents one crore gods (Devine powers). Several other saints & sages have used derivatives of this Mantra in different manners. Presently, to the best of available information, thirty types of “MAHA MRITYUNJAY” MANTRA are in practice.
